It's midnight and the clock ticks 1 am
Her eyes holding back on to a night full of sleep
She looks tired, irritated & angry on her child
As her child continues to disappoint her by staying awake
Her thought wanders past in time when she was free from responsibilities and commitments
When getting married and having a baby was her dream and everything around such life seemed greener and full of life
May be the responsibility surrounding the possible greener life was something she overlooked bigtime
The flipside of greener life was more demanding than she could ever imagine
Now the child is her prime responsibility
No matter what bad happens she will be the first to be blamed and criticized for
Even when she has given her one hundred percent
Now here in the present this responsibility is keeping her awake, making her irritated and angry too
But then she looks at her child who is similing for no reason
This very sight melts her sleep, irritation and angriness
Now suddenly in the middle of the night this one innocent smile has given her the refreshment of a thousand caffeine
She is all set to play with her child when rest of the world is in deep sleep
Just one smile was all it took to tarnish the unpleasantness of responsibility
By the time she sits upstraight to play with her child
She finds her child fading into sleep
Now all she could do was to smile at her child's innocence and lay by her side
Eventually closing her eyes and dissolving into the world of dreams
